 Gaoming
City is located in the north-western part of Zhujiang River
Delta. It is known as "the Pearl ofXijiang River"
owing to her advantaged natural environment with picturesque
scenery, fertile land and abundant natural resources. It
is an ideal place for investment.
Riding the wind of reform and open-door policy, Gaoming
City has been making full use of the good
opportunities, its favorable geographic position and its
unity and coordination of the people to developthe city's
basic facilities, such as ports, energy resources, and communication
systems. Flexible andfavorable policies have been made to
further encourage foreign economic cooperation and trade.
By the end of 2000, 338 foreign invested enterprises have
been set up in the city, with a contractual foreign investment
of 1,074 million US$ and an actual investment of 556 million
US$. Foreign invested enterprises have become the main stanchion
of the city's foreign economy and trade.
